Building Research Partnerships

The 13th Building Research Partnerships Workshop was held last week in Belfast.

30 services users and researchers came together to explore the area of health and social care research as well as the various ways the public can be constructively involved in the research process as partners.

Margaret Grayson, a Macmillan Cancer Support trained facilitator, helped the group to get a better understanding of what it means for the public to be involved in research and how patients, carers and the public can be involved at each stage of the research process; the different types of research methods and terms used in research and opportunities for sharing of expertise in research with patients, carers and the public.
