20-21 Sept 2018 - Meeting to prepare for pandemic research, Brussels

Event Date: 
PREPARE (The Platform for European Preparedness Against (Re-)emerging Epidemics) is building Europe's capacity to do clinical research under the inevitable circumstances of an infectious disease epidemic or pandemic.  This solution focused meeting will lay out how patients, funders, researchers and regulators can work together to overcome ethical, administrative, regulatory and logistical (EARL) barriers.
This meeting will:
  • Highlight why it is vital that clinical research can be delivered in a pandemic
  • Showcase solutions developed within PREPARE
  • Share practical solutions around pandemic studies from EU Member states
  • Show how regulators can ensure robust yet expedient reviews during a pandemic
  • Describe how to work with new European legislation (Clinical Trial Regulation, General Data Protection Regulation)
  • Highlight the value of combining antimicrobial resistance (AMR) clinical research with pandemic preparedness
