Job Vacancies in HSC R&D Division (INTERREGVA CHITIN Project)

HSC R&D Division are pleased to announce the following temporary job vacancies in the INTERREGVA CHITIN Project:

€8.8 million has been awarded by the Special EU Programmes Body to the HSC R&D Division of the Public Health Agency and Health Research Board, Ireland for the Cross-Border Healthcare Intervention Trials in Ireland Network (CHITIN) project. The total includes match-funding of 15% provided by the Departments of Health in both Northern Ireland and Ireland. Ten Healthcare Intervention Trials (HITs) will be funded as part of the CHITIN project.

  • Evaluation & Monitoring Officer (Band 7) - Fixed term until December 2021
The post holder will lead on a range of information and research activities designed to help demonstrate how the CHITIN project has delivered on the outcomes and indicators of the INTERREGVA programme. This project-wide evaluation will require oversight and collaboration across the 10 HIT teams to ensure compatibility of data gathering. The post-holder will be supervised/mentored in this by the Senior Health Intelligence Manager.
The role will include:
 leading on the development of a CHITIN project-wide monitoring and evaluation plan;
 leading research design, data analysis and report writing;
 conducting in-house research and evaluation;
 contracting and management of external research projects;
 providing professional advice and support to the CHITIN partners
 lead on monitoring and evaluation training workshops for the 10 HIT research teams

  • Senior Industry Manager (Band 8a) - Fixed term until December 2021
The post holder will act in support of the Assistant Director HSC R&D (AD), to act as a lead point of engagement between the ten HIT research teams and industry partners, working to facilitate an increase in commercial research within the DA and towards a sustainable legacy of collaborative commercial research beyond the end of the CHITIN project.
The Senior Industry Manager will actively support the commercial elements of the HITs selected for funding through the CHITIN project, providing a point of contact for problem-solving, facilitation and navigation of the R&D infrastructure in the DA to ensure smooth management of commercial interactions.

  • Communications Manager (Band 7) - Fixed term until December 2021
The post holder will be expected to work closely with all lead partners, together with the main research partners and provide a full communications service to enable the CHITIN programme to meet its communication objectives. The postholder will have responsibility for the management, development and delivery of high quality communication solutions including public relations and stakeholder engagement, marketing, social media, event management and publications development.
The role will involve oversight of communication activity across the ten HIT research teams, to ensure coherent and appropriate messaging that complies with the INTERREGVA Programme Rules and is accessible to the multiple communities of interest that need to understand and be aware of the project.
