£20 million "rapid response" for novel coronavirus research

£20 million rapid response funding pot for novel coronavirus research.

The current call is being jointly funded by UKRI and NIHR. The funding is available for researchers across the UK to apply for.

This fund is in addition and complimentary to the £20 million funding announced by the Health Secretary, which will go to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).

The remit of the call is for UK researchers, working with international partners where appropriate, to submit proposals for projects to develop vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics or address the epidemiology, spread or underpinning knowledge of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak that emerged from Wuhan City, China.
