Registration is now open for the 6th Annual Spotlight on Breastfeeding Research Conference, which takes place online from 9.00am – 1.00pm on Friday, 10th March 2023.
This event will offer the most up-to-date breastfeeding research from those who are currently engaged in supporting women, writing policy and working in practice or education.
It also provides a platform for mothers facing breastfeeding challenges to share their experiences and to contribute to future research plans.
Professor Marlene Sinclair, Emeritus Professor of Midwifery Research at Ulster University, will chair the event, which will open with an update on breastfeeding policy and research from Dr Joanna Purdy, Interim Chair of the Breastfeeding Strategy Research Workstrand.
This year’s keynote will be a presentation on the challenges and opportunities in breastfeeding research by Professor Tina Lavender, Professor of Maternal and Newborn Health and Director of the Centre for Childbirth, Women’s and Newborn Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
The event will also feature Dr Mary Jane Brown, who will share her personal experience of breastfeeding as a third-time mum, while Adele Paton from the Breastfeeding Northern Ireland (BFNI) Facebook group will also share her experience of establishing the network and its vision for the future.
The event is free and you can register here.
