“Improving public health: Bridging the Gap Between Research and Real-World Impact”

Each year millions of pounds are spent on evaluating public health initiatives. These evaluations sometimes take the form of large-scale randomised controlled trials (RCTs), but there are real challenges in translating trial evidence into the real world. Evaluators often get asked for evidence if a public health initiative has worked, but what does “worked” really mean?

This event will explore the wide variety of evaluation options available to evidence impact. It will also consider the often-overlooked importance of aligning the approach taken to the expectations of those commissioning evaluations.

Keynote presentation by

Prof Andy Jones (C3 Collaborating for Health)

and Dr Emma Coombes (NIHR PHIRST LiLaC)
