The HSC R&D Approvals Service within the Public Health Agency R&D Division aims to streamline the research approvals process for Northern Ireland applicants in line with the coordinating functions in other UK Nations. 

The HSC R&D Approvals Service is responsible for a number of core areas of research governance and research finance. Please click on the areas of service below to learn more.

• Research governance review (secondary care only)

• Pharmacy Assurance coordination for Northern Ireland led studies 

• Study resource review for Northern Ireland-led research submissions as part of the National Contract Value Review (NCVR)

• AcoRD specialist signoff for non-commercial research studies that require submission of a Schedule of Events Cost Attribution Tool (SoECAT) towards a grant funding application
