Today is International Clinical Trials Day (20 May). It is a day to reflect on the life-changing impact of a research active Health and Social Care system in Northern Ireland, to drive innovation delivering faster diagnoses to better treatments and improved quality of care, reduce health inequalities and deliver research that improves lives and strengthens our economy.
As we continue to invest in research infrastructure in Northern Ireland that can power innovation, to provide training and support to research leaders and to empower a research-ready workforce, we are reminded that research is everyone’s business and would not happen but for the unwavering dedications of everyone involved – from research participants, public partners and contributors, carers, healthcare professionals, clinicians, academics, industry, charities and partners across the health and care research system.
