Prof Diarmuid O'Donovan,

Centre for Public Health, Queen's University Belfast and Honorary consultant, Public Health Agency  

Diarmuid O’Donovan is a Professor of Global Health at Queen’s University Belfast and honorary consultant in public health at the Public Health Agency in Northern Ireland. His main research and teaching interests relate to sustainable development and health equity and inclusion, locally and globally. He is a member of the Faculty of Public Health Climate & Health Committee and of the UK Health Alliance for Climate Change. 

Climate change is described as "the biggest global health threat of the 21st century". This talk will review the links between health and climate and the growing awareness of planetary health and sustainable healthcare including a summary what we know about sustainable healthcare actions in Northern Ireland compared to other countries, and a discussion of new research opportunities.
