Showcasing Palliative Care Research in Northern Ireland

AIIHPC are delighted to host 'Showcasing Palliative Care Research in Northern Ireland' for the Palliative Care Research Forum for Northern Ireland (PCRF NI). During this hour-long online showcase event, PCRF NI will share current palliative care research from Northern Ireland including recently completed research to help inform attendees own perspectives.

This event will be chaired by Professor George Kernohan (Ulster University) who has recently completed an in-depth study of Day Hospice in Belfast, Edinburgh and Birmingham. He found a huge reliance upon volunteers in making the service work. In the audience will be members of the Palliative Care team at the Public Health Agency in Northern Ireland.

We will also hear from Dr Anita Mallon (Ulster University) who will present her findings on views on palliative care, reported by a cohort of young people. There will be time for discussion, and for questions.

The webinar PCRF NI aims to improve public understanding of palliative care and provide an up-to-date regional perspective. Palliative care is changing and is everyone’s business, not only older people with cancer.
