SAPHIRe online workshop - Exit strategies for COVID-19 lockdown, what role do regions play

Event Date:
2020-06-16

After the global spread of COVID-19, and the resulting lockdown measurements, many governments and regional authorities are slowly rolling out their lockdown exit plans.

These lockdown exit strategies usually consist of carefully balancing the role of healthy individuals, socio-economic impacts and technological solutions. Many factors influence the success of an exit strategy, but which can we influence ourselves? What can we do as a person to minimise the risk of developing severe COVID-19 symptoms or spreading the disease?

To gain a better understanding of the different regional approaches to tackling these challenging times, SAPHIRe will host an online interactive workshop on the 16th June; “Exit strategies for COVID-19 lockdown, what role do regions play”.

Sharing knowledge during this global crisis will be a significant factor in our ability to respond and find new ways forward.

The topics discussed will include:

  • The healthy individual: Individual lifestyle management

  • Socio-economic impact: The new reality in hospitals - digital transformations needed

  • Technological solutions: Track and tracing -to app or not to app, that’s the question

SAPHIRe call for best practices

We invite you to represent your region at the workshop. As a regional representative you would be well positioned to speak about your regions’ approach to the COVID-19 exit strategy, with a particular focus on the topics mentioned above. We would also like to hear about any best practice examples, in the area of personalised medicine, that have been used in the COVID-19 regional response. Send a short abstract with your potential topic and the key messages of your presentation to jolien.roovers@vlaanderen.be before the 25th of May. We will then select the presenters that are allowed to showcase their regional approach in a 7 min presentation.
