22 Jun 2021 - Embedding Patient and Public Involvement in medical education evidence synthesis

Event Date:
2021-06-22

This webinar will focus on patient and public involvement (PPI) in evidence synthesis. We will share two recent examples of medical education reviews involving academic and PPI collaborators within the review process.

The first study explores how patients and public are involved in remote teaching clinical interactions. We include reflections of a PPI contributor about being involved in the review process.

The second study pioneered a new approach to analysis: embedding patient and student user perspectives into the analysis of an evidence synthesis. The final section of the webinar will be a space for discussion, to share some of the challenges and opportunities to embedding patients and public in the design, delivery and research of medical education.

We welcome participants’ experiences of existing approaches and reflections about possible future developments and directions for embedding PPI in evidence syntheses.
