SAPHIRe – The Consortium for Adoption of Personalised Health in Regions – is a partnership between the HSC R&D Division of the Public Health Agency (Northern Ireland), the Department of Economy Science and Innovation of the Flemish Government, EuroBioForum Foundation (Netherlands) and EIT Health InnoStars (Hungary)
This Horizon 2020 funded coordination and support action aims to engage and help structure the adoption and application of personalised medicine (PM) at regional level and to contribute to the implementation and reach of the International Consortium on Personalised Medicine (ICPerMed) to develop its roadmap and action plan, while taking regional needs into account.
The SAPHIRe consortium particularly wants to link remote or sparsely populated regions with regions harbouring critical mass of medical and PM expertise, while taking into account broader social-economic and cultural aspects.
SAPHIRe will run for the next three years and will engage with regional stakeholders such as policy makers and healthcare, academic and industry colleagues. There will be a number of targeted workshops and events taking place over the next three years.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation
programme under grant agreement No 825046”.
