The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Research Society has established a new Clinical Research Nurse sub-committee to lead on work specifically relating to clinical research nurses. This is an exciting development at the RCN to raise the profile of clinical research nurses and midwives to champion the issues that really matter this professional group.
Over the last 18 months, the RCN Research Society has been actively engaging with CRNs around the country, who overwhelmingly supported the RCN Research Society developing a CRN-specific agenda to support such a large group of research nursing professionals. With over 10,000 CRNs in the UK delivering thousands of research studies that can lead to the transformation of treatments and services for patients, a UK-wide forum to explore and address the specific professional needs of CRNs under the auspices of our Royal College is both timely and welcome.
