Video presentations from Connecting Policy, Practice and Research Workshop (NI)

The online ‘Connecting Policy, Practice and Research to Improve Palliative Care in Northern Ireland Workshop’ on 20 May 2021 was organised by All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC) and the Palliative Care in Partnership Programme with the support of the Palliative Care Research Forum, Northern Ireland. The workshop was a very valuable opportunity for colleagues to gain an understanding of what is happening across respective work areas related to palliative and end of life care, including current and future priorities for practice, research and policy.

The following videos from the workshop are now available on The Palliative Hub Professional (Link):

· Paul Turley, Health and Social Care Board - Palliative Care in Partnership priorities (Link)

· Dr Janice Bailie, HSC R&D Division - Update on research funding priorities and opportunities (Link)

· Prof Sonja McIlfatrick, Ulster University - Overview of Ulster University’s palliative and end of life care research portfolio (Link)

· Prof Kevin Brazil, Queen’s University Belfast  - Overview of Queen’s University Belfast’s palliative and end of life care research portfolio (Link)

In light of feedback received at the workshop, AIIHPC is drafting a paper for the Palliative Care in Partnership team to include potential options for continuing the dialogue with researchers and policy makers to shape improved palliative care in Northern Ireland.
