On Tuesday, 11th June, over 80 researchers, health and social care staff, and patient and carer representatives attended an inspiring and engaging lecture on the Measurement of Impact in Patient and Public Involvement in Research, by Simon Denegri, OBE, Director of Patients, Carers and the Public , National Institute for Health Research, England, in the Postgraduate Centre, Belfast City Hospital.
The event was hosted by Public Involvement Enhancing Research (PIER) NI, and HSC R&D Division. An afternoon workshop showcased examples of PPI in Practice from Northern Ireland, led by Ruth Boyd, (NI Cancer Research Consumer Forum), Jean Daly, (Ulster University), Claire Kerr, (Queens University Belfast) and Claire Fordyce and Jill Munce (Public Health Agency).
